Summary

We are looking for experienced Maritime Security Guards to join cruise ships operating with an international crew. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in security, military, or police service and be capable of maintaining a safe and secure environment on board in accordance with international maritime security standards.

Responsibilities

Maintain the overall security of the vessel in line with the Ship Security Plan (SSP) and company Standard Procedures.

Ensure gangway security and control access to the ship at all times.

Conduct security screening of passengers, crew members, visitors, their belongings, and personal effects to prevent prohibited or dangerous items from being brought on board.

Carry out regular security patrols in restricted, controlled, vulnerable, and passenger areas.

Monitor onboard activities and promptly identify potential security risks or threats.

Investigate incidents, crimes, and safeguarding matters on board.

Compile accurate statements and detailed security reports.

Report all security-related incidents in accordance with established procedures.

Participate in mandatory security training sessions, drills, and emergency exercises.

Qualifications

Proven experience in security, military, police, or related fields.

Basic knowledge of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

Ability to recognise, assess, and respond to potential security threats.

High level of physical fitness and the ability to act calmly in crisis situations.

Strong problem-solving skills with a tactful and diplomatic approach.

Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Ability to read, understand, and strictly follow the Master’s Standing Orders, the Ship Security Plan (SSP), and all security-related procedures.

Ability to work effectively within a multicultural and international crew environment.
